Hawaii Department of Education
June 11-14th represented Ed's fourth trip to the Islands in eighteen months. This trip's primary purpose was to address the Hawaii Department of Educationšs Leadership Conference in Honolulu. The audience of nine hundred Department of Education staff, school superintendents, principals and other administrators gathered and learned What Today's Hawaiian Student Will Need To Know In 2025! Ed integrated his experience as a futurist, working with a variety of industries and professions, and as a school superintendent and secondary school teacher, into his presentation. Ed laid out the skills and literacies needed for future success and presented the attendees with a tool for incorporating these learning objectives into a school curriculum. In a follow-up communication, Superintendent of schools, Patricia Hamamoto reported:
In my journey across the state, I have talked with many who attended the conference. In all instances they have shared the 'ahas' from your keynote which gives them a focus on planning for the next few years.
